THUNDER SELECT BASEBALL

The Thunder Select Baseball Program is designed for dedicated athletes seeking a higher level of competition, skill development, and teamwork beyond recreational play. As part of the Gretna Youth Softball Baseball Association, Thunder Select provides players with the opportunity to compete against top-tier teams while strengthening their fundamentals, baseball IQ, and love for the game.

Our program focuses on developing well-rounded players through structured practices, professional coaching, and competitive tournament play. Emphasis is placed on sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork, helping athletes grow both on and off the field.

Thunder Select is ideal for players who are committed to improving their skills, taking on new challenges, and representing their community with pride. Tryouts are held annually (in June), and roster spots are earned based on ability, effort, and coachability.

The program is offered to players, 7U - 14U. The season runs from April to July. We have a number of home fields located throughout Gretna. In the off-season, teams practice in the fall as well as indoors from January to March. Our indoor facility is in the heart of Gretna at the Gretna Training Camp.

What to bring:

• Glove, bat, helmet, and water bottle
• Tennis shoes, turf shoes, or molded cleats (no metal spikes)
• If your son is trying out for a catcher position, he will need to bring his own catcher’s gear
• A positive attitude and a strong work ethic!
